J&J Hit With Five Suits Over Tylenol In Pa. Court

Law360, Philadelphia (January 11, 2013, 2:44 PM EST) -- Johnson & Johnson was hit in state court in Pennsylvania Thursday with five suits alleging that acetaminophen in various Tylenol products was responsible for users’ acute liver failure.

The suits, directed at subsidiaries McNeill-PPC Inc. and McNeill Consumer Healthcare, as well as Johnson & Johnson, contend that the drug was responsible for two deaths and three hospitalizations. The law firm behind the suits has also filed the intent to sue McNeill in at least two other cases.
