Fla. City Will Mediate Dispute Over $50M Pier Renovation

Law360, Miami (January 15, 2013, 2:11 PM EST) -- A Florida judge on Monday sent St. Petersburg and a group opposing the city's $50 million pier renovation plans to mediation after the group agreed to drop the 15,000 people who signed a petition for a voter referendum as plaintiffs in the suit.

Judge Jack Day ordered the city to mediate with Vote On The Pier in the latter's suit attempting to force St. Petersburg to hold a citywide vote on whether to keep the existing inverted pyramid pier structure, according to city attorney Joseph Patner....
