Cuomo Taps CUNY Law Prof For High Court Vacancy

Law360, New York (January 15, 2013, 7:28 PM EST) -- New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday tapped a City University of New York School of Law professor to serve on the state's highest court in a nomination mindful of the bench's diversity following the loss of its lone Hispanic judge.

Jenny Rivera will take the seat vacated by Court of Appeals Judge Carmen Ciparick, who left in 2012 after hitting the state's mandatory retirement age, the governor's office announced.
