Citgo Cut From NH Gas-Additive Suit To Explore Settlement

Law360, New York (January 16, 2013, 3:35 PM EST) -- The state of New Hampshire on Wednesday agreed to sever Citgo Petroleum Corp. from a lawsuit alleging several gasoline suppliers added a controversial chemical to gas sold in the state, knowing that it would contaminate groundwater supplies.

In a joint motion to sever, the state and Citgo said they have until Feb. 15 to arrive at a settlement or the severance will be terminated. Representatives of Citgo and the New Hampshire Office of the Attorney General declined to comment Wednesday.
