Judge Vacates Willfulness Finding Against Qualcomm

Law360, New York (November 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has vacated his finding that Qualcomm Inc.'s infringement of Broadcom Corp. patents related to cell phone technology was willful, slashing Broadcom's award from $39.3 million to $19.6 million.

Although Judge James Selna of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California gave Broadcom the option of pursuing a new trial, Broadcom said in a notice filed in court on Friday that it would not do so.
