Pa. Pol, NCAA Agree To Halt Penn State Fine Disbursement

Law360, Philadelphia (January 18, 2013, 2:15 PM EST) -- A Pennsylvania lawmaker has reached an agreement with the NCAA to halt disbursement of $12 million in fines paid by Penn State University stemming from the Jerry Sandusky child sexual abuse scandal while negotiations continue on his overriding lawsuit aimed at keeping the fines in the state, he announced Thursday.

Sen. Jake Corman, R-Centre, sued the NCAA earlier this month, asking the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court to prevent the organization from using $60 million taken from the largely state-funded school to support programs with no direct connection...
