Zacky Farms Kept In Family Hands With $31.6M Auction Sale

Law360, New York (January 22, 2013, 6:07 PM EST) -- Zacky Farms LLC announced Monday it had been sold in a bankruptcy auction to the Robert T. and Lillian D. Zacky Trust for $31.6 million, keeping California's second-largest poultry producer in family hands.

The trust was the highest bidder in last week's auction and had been providing the debtor-in-possession funding to keep Zacky Farms operating while it was in bankruptcy. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in October, citing rising bird-feed costs.
