Pregnancy Bias Ruling A Win For Cos. With 'Conscience'

Law360, New York (January 28, 2013, 8:25 PM EST) -- A California appeals court decision that said a judge erred by telling a jury that Lucasfilm Ltd.'s concern for a prospective employee's unborn child was not a defense to pregnancy discrimination may make all bias suits in the Golden State tougher to pursue and easier to defend by limiting jurors' ability to question an employer's judgment, lawyers say.
