Nebraska Gov. OKs New Keystone Pipeline Route

Law360, New York (January 22, 2013, 7:44 PM ET) -- Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman on Tuesday approved TransCanada Corp.’s rerouting of the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline around environmentally sensitive parts of the state, leaving the White House to decide whether to give the controversial project the final green light.

In a letter to President Barack Obama and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Republican governor signed off on a report by Nebraska's environmental regulator that concluded the pipeline’s new path would minimize the project’s environmental impacts.
