EU Extends Review Of Ryanair's $922M Aer Lingus Buy

Law360, New York (January 23, 2013, 1:41 PM EST) -- The European Union’s antitrust regulator said Wednesday that it has extended its review of low-cost Irish airline Ryanair Holdings PLC’s €694 million ($922 million) bid to acquire its rival Aer Lingus Group PLC until March 6, following Ryanair's offering of commitments to assuage competition concerns.

The European Commission is extending its deadline for deciding whether the merger would pose antitrust problems by one week, according to a posting on the regulator's website. Further details on the extension were not released.
