White House Takes Up Review Of Fracking Rule Changes

Law360, New York (January 23, 2013, 7:23 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior on Tuesday sent the White House a revised version of a proposed rule that would set the nation's first standards for hydraulic fracturing on public and Indian lands, following a series of delays triggered by broad criticism of the measure.

The Office of Management and Budget is reviewing the Interior Department's proposed changes, which are not yet public, according to an update from the OMB. The Interior Department will publish its update in the first quarter of 2013.
