BDO Seidman Hit With Overtime Class Action

Law360, New York (November 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Accounting firm BDO Seidman LLP is fighting a proposed class action lawsuit accusing the company of improperly classifying its unlicensed associate accountants as exempt from receiving overtime pay and other benefits.

The suit, which was brought Nov. 15 by former employee Nam Nguyen in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, claims that under California law, accountants must be licensed in order to be properly classified as exempt.
