Republican CFTC Commissioner Jill Sommers Resigns

Law360, New York (January 24, 2013, 4:58 PM EST) -- Jill E. Sommers, a commissioner at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the chief regulator overseeing the investigation of MF Global Inc., resigned her post Thursday, more than a year before the end of her term.

Sommers, a Republican, declined to offer a reason for the departure. She was appointed a CFTC commissioner in 2007, according to the CFTC.
