Contractor Gets 30 Months For $1M Iraq Reconstruction Fraud

Law360, Wilmington (January 24, 2013, 7:51 PM EST) -- The former co-owner of a U.S. government contracting company was sentenced in Texas federal court Thursday to 30 months in prison for falsely billing $1.27 million to the U.S. government in connection with Iraq reconstruction contracts.

Jill Ann Charpia, 33, was also sentenced to three years of supervised release and ordered to pay $920,000 in restitution by U.S. District Judge Orlando L. Garcia, according to a statement from the U.S. Department of Justice.
