Nexium MDL Judge Scolds Attys For Lead Counsel 'Squabble'

Law360, New York (January 25, 2013, 6:44 PM EST) -- The Massachusetts federal judge handling multidistrict litigation over whether AstraZeneca PLC illegally delayed generic versions of its heartburn drug Nexium scolded plaintiffs' attorneys Thursday, using strong words to criticize a fight over who gets to be lead counsel.

U.S. District Judge William G. Young said the prosecution of the six consolidated direct purchaser class actions against Nexium had been hamstrung by a “most unseemly squabble” over which attorneys will lead the case.
