Lowe's Workers Get Class Cert. In Health Plan Suit

Law360, New York (January 25, 2013, 6:13 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge said Friday that he would grant class certification to employees of Lowe's Cos. in a suit claiming the home improvement retailer wrongfully terminated their health care benefits.

U.S. District Judge Richard Sullivan said at a hearing in Manhattan that he would grant preliminary class certification, allowing plaintiffs attorneys to give notice to employees who may have wrongfully lost their health care coverage and solicit information on their possible damages. Lowe's consented to the certification.
