Purdue Hits 2 Generics Makers With OxyContin Patent Suits

Law360, New York (January 31, 2013, 4:24 PM ET) -- Purdue Pharma LP on Wednesday sued two generic drugmakers in New York federal court, alleging their planned generic versions of painkiller OxyContin infringed several patents covering the drug.

According to the suits, Epic Pharma LLC and Impax Laboratories Inc.’s abbreviated new drug applications for generic oxycodone hydrochloride extended-release tablets, covering various dosage strengths between 10 and 80 milligrams, infringe three patents covering high-purity OxyContin.
