Credit Suisse Can't Boot Poulsen From Nat'l Century Trial

Law360, New York (January 31, 2013, 6:35 PM EST) -- A New York federal court on Wednesday declined a bid by Credit Suisse Group Inc. to sever National Century Financial Enterprises Inc. co-founder Lance Poulsen from an upcoming civil trial over the health care company’s alleged $3 billion fraud scheme.

U.S. District Judge James Graham said having one trial for both Poulsen and Credit Suisse is proper because the consolidated noteholder suits allege they were co-conspirators in the scheme. He also said one trial would promote judicial efficiency, according to an opinion published Wednesday.
