Obama Offers Nominations For 8th, 10th Circuits

Law360, Dallas (January 31, 2013, 7:31 PM EST) -- President Barack Obama on Thursday nominated a longtime federal public defender and Wyoming’s attorney general to judicial vacancies on the Eighth and Tenth circuits.

Jane Kelly, who’s served as an assistant federal public defender for the Northern District of Iowa for 19 years, is Obama’s nominee for the Eighth Circuit. Gregory Alan Phillips, Wyoming’s attorney general since 2011 and a former assistant U.S. attorney and state legislator, is Obama’s nominee for the Tenth Circuit. Neither previously has served in the judiciary.
