Law360, New York (February 1, 2013, 8:27 PM EST) -- Hoffmann-La Roche Inc. faces steep odds in convincing Judge Carol Higbee she appears biased and should recuse herself from the Accutane litigation in New Jersey, but the drugmaker's true goal may be to temper the judge's supposed pro-plaintiff slant by rebuking her publicly, experts say.

Roche filed a recusal motion in December in long-running mass tort litigation over the acne drug's alleged links to inflammatory bowel disease.
