Oprah's OWN Network Hit With Sex Discrimination Suit

Law360, New York (February 4, 2013, 1:39 PM EST) -- A former executive at Oprah Winfrey's OWN LLC network on Friday sued her former employer in California state court, claiming she suffered sex discrimination and was eventually fired after she became pregnant.

Carolyn Hommel, OWN's former senior director of scheduling and acquisitions, claims that after she became pregnant and had to take medical leave for pregnancy-related issues, she was replaced by a temporary employee and upon returning to work, her responsibilities were gradually taken away from her because she was expecting.
