Blockbuster Deal Should Fill Dozens Of NJ Judgeships

Law360, New York (February 4, 2013, 9:19 PM EST) -- The New Jersey Senate on Monday took swift action on the reappointment of five Superior Court judges following a “blockbuster” deal on judicial nominations between Democratic lawmakers and the administration of Gov. Chris Christie that should help resolve dozens of court vacancies in the state.

Going forward, Senate leadership and the administration have broadly agreed on more than 20 new Superior Court judges, according to state Sen. Nicholas Scutari, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee.
