Under Pressure, Facebook Puts Do-Not-Track Option On Ads

Law360, New York (February 6, 2013, 7:07 PM EST) -- Responding to mounting pressure from regulators and advertisers, Facebook Inc. agreed Monday to join a privacy initiative and install an icon on its targeted ads that will allow users to opt out of online tracking.

As part of an agreement with an accountability program administered by the Council of Better Business Bureaus, the social networking site committed to attaching the AdChoices icon developed by the Digital Advertising Alliance to targeted ads served through the Facebook Exchange network.
