Waxman Challenges EPA On Energy Cos.' Deal

Law360, New York (November 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) is investigating whether the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is effectively monitoring an agreement designed to prevent diesel fuel from ending up in the water supply.

The chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has asked the EPA to back up recent claims that oil and gas producers have stopped using diesel fuel in an energy production process in which it could potentially pollute underground sources of drinking water.
