Police Union Loses Bid To Toss Pregnancy Bias Case

Law360, New York (December 3, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has knocked down the request of a union representing Chicago police officers to have a discrimination case brought by a pregnant, former in-house attorney thrown out, ruling that she has met the burden of proof necessary to proceed to trial.

On Friday, U.S. District Judge Virginia Kendall sided with plaintiff Julie E. Diemer, denying the the Fraternal Order of Police, Chicago Lodge 7's request for summary judgment.
