TCEQ Wants To Streamline Oil, Gas Emissions Approval

Law360, New York (February 11, 2013, 1:24 PM EST) -- The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality said Friday it would propose a rule to streamline the process by which oil and gas sites seek authorization for planned emissions, after the state legislature extended the authorization deadline by two years.

The commission's proposal will create a permit byrule requiring permit holders to develop and implement a maintenance program and to use best management practices to minimize emissions from planned maintenance, startup and shutdown activities at oil and gas handling and production facilities, the TCEQ said.
