Dechert Avoids Trial Over Ex-Atty's 'Macho Culture' Claims

Law360, New York (February 12, 2013, 1:07 PM EST) -- Dechert LLP and a former associate on Monday reached an eleventh-hour deal in the attorney’s suit claiming he was fired because he didn’t fit the firm’s purported “macho culture” and because he spent too much time caring for his mentally ill wife.

U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton signed off on an order dismissing the two-year-old case, which was set to go to trial in Massachusetts federal court on Monday over Ariel Ayanna’s retaliation claim under the Family and Medical Leave Act.
