T-Mobile Didn't Infringe Data Compression Patents, Jury Says

Law360, New York (February 12, 2013, 7:22 PM EST) -- A jury in the Eastern District of Texas ruled Monday that T-Mobile USA Inc. did not infringe three data compression patents held by Realtime Data LLC and that all of the patents are invalid, rejecting Realtime's demand for up to $265 million in damages.

The jury deliberated for less than two hours after the weeklong trial before handing a victory to T-Mobile, the only one of the six defendants originally named in the suit that did not settle.
