Texas Bill Would Allow Privacy Suits Over 'Smart' Utility Meters

Law360, Dallas (February 12, 2013, 8:23 PM EST) --  A Texas lawmaker on Monday filed a bill that would give consumers opposed to smart meters the right to sue utilities for invasion of privacy over any data theft or misuse that results from using the device, and would require utilities to foot the bill for removing smart meters.
