AMD Settles With Acacia Over Computer Cache Patent

Law360, New York (September 30, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Chip maker Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. has agreed to license chipset technology from Acacia Technologies' newest subsidiary in a deal that ends litigation in federal court in the Northern District of California.

Computer Cache Coherency Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Acacia, sued AMD in April, asserting its patent for computer cache technology. Acacia’s related suits against Via Technologies, Inc. and Intel Corporation are still pending in the same court.
