Jury Gets Book-Cooking Case Against Ex-Vitesse Execs

Law360, New York (February 14, 2013, 9:09 PM EST) -- A jury will begin deliberating Friday on charges against two former Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. executives accused of cooking the books to hide slumping revenues, after prosecutors wrapped up a nearly monthlong retrial.

Evidence against former Vitesse CEO Louis Tomasetta and former Chief Financial Officer Eugene Hovanec is “overwhelming,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Katherine Goldstein told jurors in Manhattan federal court.

“It has been a lengthy trial, but make no mistake, it has not been a close one,” she said.
