Wis. Gov. Snubs Medicaid Expansion, Touting Alternative Plan

Law360, New York (February 13, 2013, 6:27 PM EST) -- Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker on Wednesday announced the state wouldn’t expand its Medicaid program under the Affordable Care Act, instead touting an alternate plan to push the state’s residents toward using its ACA-mandated insurance exchange.

According to Walker, who unveiled his plan in a speech given to the state Chamber of Commerce, the number of uninsured Wisconsin residents will be reduced by just less than 225,000, through inducements to move people on to the exchanges along with the simultaneous removal of a cap on the Medicaid...
