Upsher, Forest Ink $11M Drug Price Inflation Settlement

Law360, New York (February 13, 2013, 6:54 PM EST) -- Pharmaceutical companies Upsher-Smith Laboratories Inc. and Forest Laboratories Inc. will pay Texas $10.9 million to resolve allegations that they fraudulently reported inflated drug prices to the state's Medicaid program, the Texas attorney general's office said Wednesday.

Upsher-Smith will pay Texas $7.9 million and Forest and its subsidiary Inwood Laboratories will hand over $3 million to settle claims that the Medicaid program was ultimately overcharged for some of the companies' products, the attorney general's office said.
