5th Circ. OKs Ecuador's Discovery Bid In $19B Chevron Row

Law360, New York (February 14, 2013, 6:09 PM EST) -- The Fifth Circuit on Wednesday granted the Republic of Ecuador's discovery request in an arbitration battle with Chevron over the validity of a $19.2 billion oil pollution judgment against the energy giant, overturning a lower court ruling that U.S. courts had no authority to issue such an order.
