Pa. Bill Would Boost Renewable Energy Targets

Law360, New York (February 19, 2013, 1:21 PM ET) -- Pennsylvania state Rep. Greg Vitali introduced legislation Friday that would increase the amount of energy that electricity providers must obtain from renewable sources such as wind and solar in an effort to tackle climate change.

House Bill 100 would amend the Pennsylvania Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards Act by requiring Pennsylvania electric companies in the Tier 1 category to obtain 15 percent of their power from renewable sources by 2023, an increase from the current target of 8 percent by 2021.
