Costco Faces Class Action Over Contaminated Crab Spread

Law360, New York (February 21, 2013, 1:07 PM EST) -- Costco Wholesale Corp. and GoldCoast Salads Inc. were hit Wednesday with a proposed class action alleging that consumers were exposed to listeria-tainted crab spread that was eventually recalled.

Plaintiff Lisa Grim claims she purchased GoldCoast Blue Crab Spread at a Rego Park, N.Y., Costco in January and soon afterward became seriously ill. The spread was recalled Feb. 1 by the company over concerns of listeria contamination.
