Attys Sanctioned Over 'Frivolous' Water Bottle IP Row

Law360, New York (February 22, 2013, 12:23 AM EST) -- Patent litigation firm Pearl Cohen Zedek Latzer and two of its attorneys were slapped with $200,000 in sanctions by a New York federal judge Thursday for bringing a “frivolous” patent infringement suit on behalf of a water bottle and hiking supplies company.

U.S. District Judge Colleen McMahon ruled that the firm and its New York partners Guy Yonay and Clyde Shuman must pay up for bringing the suit on behalf of Israeli company Source Vagabond Systems Ltd., which sells water bottles and other travel products. Source...
