Supreme Court Deals Final Blow To University In LCD Patent Suit

Law360, New York (October 4, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court has refused to hear the University of Illinois’ appeal for sovereign immunity in a patent dispute over plasma displays with Japanese electronics maker Fujitsu.

The high court’s refusal to hear the case represents the end of the line for the university, which earlier this year lost a bid to have the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit rehear the case.
