DOL Rule Outlines Handling Of ACA Whistleblower Complaints

Law360, New York (February 22, 2013, 5:08 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Labor released an interim final rule Friday laying out procedures and time frames for handling whistleblower complaints filed under the Affordable Care Act, which prohibits retaliation against workers who report potential violations of the health care law. 

The DOL's Occupational Safety and Health Administration requested comments on the rule, which will become effective when it is published in the Federal Register, which is slated to happen Feb. 27. The comment period runs for 60 days after publication.
