Judge Refuses To Halt Lucent Trial V. Microsoft, Dell

Law360, New York (December 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A California federal court judge has rejected Dell Inc., Gateway Inc. and Microsoft Corp.'s request to delay the start of a trial in which Alcatel-Lucent accuses the technology giants of infringing video coding patents.

Huff of the Southern District of California on Thursday denied the computer companies' motion to stay a trial set for Feb. 20, 2008, pending the outcome of a related case in Delaware Chancery Court – which involves two of the five patents asserted in the California case....
