Law360, Los Angeles (February 22, 2013, 8:37 PM EST) -- Actor Kevin Costner won a partial legal victory Friday as a California judge denied Morgan Creek Productions Inc.'s bid to escape a breach of contract claim alleging it reneged on its promise to share profits from the 1991 film "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" with him.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Bobbi Tillmon rejected Morgan Creek's argument that the claim was time-barred under the agreement, but she did trim part of the “Hollywood accounting” case Costner filed in July, including claims of breach of the implied covenant...
