Procter & Gamble Settles Crest Toothpaste False Ad Suit

Law360, New York (February 25, 2013, 1:49 PM EST) -- A New Jersey federal judge on Thursday signed off on a proposed settlement in a class action alleging Procter & Gamble Co. falsely labeled its Crest Sensitivity Treatment & Protection toothpaste to trick consumers into paying a premium over comparable products.

U.S. District Judge Jose Linares conditionally certified the settlement class and preliminarily approved the deal, which calls for Procter & Gamble to refund class members $4 for one tube of toothpaste each and pay up to $700,000 in attorneys' fees to settle claims Crest Sensitivity...
