Sprint, Vonage Clash Over Voice Over Packet Technology

Law360, New York (October 5, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Telecommunications giant Sprint Nextel Corp. has filed a lawsuit against Vonage Holdings Corp., alleging the broadband phone company infringed seven of its patents for voice-over-packet technology.

The suit, which also names theglobe.com, Inc. and Voiceglo Holdings, Inc. as defendants, alleges that Vonage intentionally infringed Sprint’s patents, and as a result “Sprint has suffered and will continue to suffer irreparable injury and damages in an amount not yet determined for which Sprint is entitled to relief.”
