Miami Beach Project Plans Raise Questions On Cost, Traffic

Law360, Miami (February 28, 2013, 11:35 PM EST) -- The two teams vying to redevelop the Miami Beach Convention Center presented preliminary plans to city commissioners Thursday, offering the officials contrasting approaches but also leaving them with questions regarding the cost and traffic impact of realizing those goals.

The project, one of the largest public-private projects attempted in Miami-Dade County to date, calls for bringing the city's outdated convention center up to current standards and redeveloping an overall area of 52 acres to better integrate the facility into the surrounding neighborhood.
