Obama Backs Gay Marriage At High Court

Law360, New York (February 28, 2013, 8:18 PM ET) -- The Obama administration urged the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday to uphold a decision finding California's gay marriage ban unconstitutional, arguing the law violates same-sex couples' right to equal protection.

In a week that saw a barrage of amicus briefs concerning the legality of same-sex marriage filed in two cases that the high court took up, the White House on Thursday took aim at California's Proposition 8.
