O2 Aims To Stop Rohm’s Subpoena Of Expert

Law360, New York (December 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- O2 Micro International Ltd. is trying to block defendant Rohm Co. Ltd. from deposing an expert who provided opinions in two prior O2 suits for the ongoing patent infringement case over liquid crystal display backlighting technology.

O2 asked the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Monday to quash Rohm’s subpoena of V. Walter Bratic. Bratic served as an expert during O2 Micro’s suits against Monolithic Power Systems Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. O2 called the subpoena a fishing expedition.
