CMS Overpaid Medicare Advantage Plans By $5B, GAO Says

Law360, New York (March 4, 2013, 5:06 PM EST) -- The federal government wasted up to $5.1 billion over the past three years by overestimating the health risks of Medicare Advantage participants, the Government Accountability Office said Monday in a report that could ratchet up tensions with private insurers already upset about reimbursement cuts.
