FTC Atty To Leave Agency For Tech Lobbying Group

Law360, New York (March 4, 2013, 5:53 PM EST) -- A Federal Trade Commission attorney will soon leave the agency to spearhead work on global privacy and data security issues for a technology trade association that represents companies such as Microsoft Corp. and Google Inc., the group said Monday.

Yael Weinman, who currently serves as an attorney adviser for FTC Commissioner Julie Brill and has worked at the agency in various capacities since 2002, will join the Information Technology Industry Council in April as vice president for global privacy policy and general counsel, according to the...
