Healthpoint, DFB Settle With Pa. In Skin Ointment FCA Row

Law360, New York (March 4, 2013, 6:01 PM EST) -- Pennsylvania has reached a nearly $2 million deal with Healthpoint Ltd. and DFB Pharmaceuticals Inc. to settle allegations that Healthpoint submitted false reimbursement claims to Medicaid for its unapproved skin ulcer ointment Xenaderm, state Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane announced Monday.

Pennsylvania’s settlement is part of the U.S. Department of Justice's $48 million agreement with the companies to settle allegations that Healthpoint ripped off Medicare and Medicaid by launching the bedsore treatment without U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval.
