Incoming SEC Chief Eyes Debevoise Atty For Enforcement Post

Law360, New York (March 7, 2013, 2:09 PM EST) -- Mary Jo White is considering making a Debevoise & Plimpton LLP colleague, partner Andrew J. Ceresney, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement chief if she is confirmed as agency chairman, a person familiar with the matter said Thursday.

Ceresney is a leading candidate to serve as co-enforcement chief along with George Canellos, who became acting director of the Enforcement Division on Feb. 8 when Robert Khuzami stepped down, according to the person.
